Anti-ageing has always been key in beauty. Every year, we are introduced to new solutions to lift, tone, firm and brighten our skin to slow down the ageing process. In the past, these solutions were only available in salons and specialised cosmetic centres. This made the process very elite with expensive procedures and lengthy treatment cycles. However, many options were quick fixes. Injectables such as Botox temporarily plumped the skin, whereas acid peels can be harsh in eating through older skin cells. Microneedling is the latest treatment to hit the anti-ageing scene. It’s often praised in the press as a non-invasive way to achieve younger looking skin. As we explored our latest arrival, GloPRO, we decided to take a deeper dive on this transformational treatment.

What is microneedling?

Microneedling uses a range of tiny needles across a roller device to create a minute injury within the skin cells – much like men would experience when shaving. The needles gently separate the skin cells as the device passes over the skin’s surface, creating “microchannels”. This all happens without damaging or perforating the upper layer of the skin. By creating the microchannels, the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin is automatically triggered to create fresher skin. The GloPRO Microneedling Regeneration Tool takes this concept one step further. It combines conventional microneedling with Red LED therapy and Vibratactile Stimulation to further enhance the treatment’s benefits. The Vibrotactile Stimulation emits small vibrations to cascade the energy into the deepest layers of the skin, without penetrating the dermis. Plus, the addition of the Red LED therapy promotes natural healing and increases collagen density for stronger and more resilient skin.

Why choose microneedling?

Thanks to the kick-start in collagen and elastin production, microneedling can accelerate the natural rejuvenation process to improve skin’s texture, reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scars as well as enhance your youthful glow. After using GloPRO, any products that are applied to the skin’s surface will absorb 200 times faster, maximising the application of your favourite skincare. Essentially, it’s a painless and non-invasive solution compared to traditional cosmetic solutions. As the needles used are so small, they are suitable for use on sensitive skin and are gentle enough to be used around the delicate eye area. There is also no downtime after the treatment, meaning you can easily work it into your regular skincare routine. What’s more, the production of fresher and rejuvenated skin makes for lasting results. GloPRO offers a range of attachment heads for the face, eye area and body so you can continue to target the areas of concern with a precise application.

What’s the treatment like?

Firstly, it’s essential to prepare ahead of the treatment. Make sure you have thoroughly cleansed the area – we suggest using the GloPRO Skin Prep Pads to completely sterilise the skin. Using moderate pressure, roll the GloPRO device over the area of concern between 4 and 10 times, changing direction with each pass. We recommend using for at least 1 minute each treatment session to ensure that the skin has been properly stimulated. The range of attachment heads available mean you can properly target each area to optimise your treatment. After finishing your session, we suggest applying your favourite skincare cream or serum to make sure you’re reaping the full benefits of any anti-ageing properties.

How long is the treatment cycle?

For best results, we recommend microneedling every other day or three times per week. Clinical studies have shown a dramatic improvement after using GloPRO after just a 30-day period, however this may vary depending on the individual.
